The Women's Theatre Festival works tirelessly to combat the issue of gender parity in theatre. Women and non-binary people fill fewer high-lever positions in theatre than men. During the summer of 2019 the Women's Theatre Festival of Raleigh hosted a weekend convention. This included plays, staged readings, workshops, and mixers, as well as a Masterclass with Theatrical Intimacy Education.
