In this play later turned movie, an abundance of themes are explored, including aging, race, religion, and friendship. When Miss Daisy crashes her car just out of the garage, her son hires her a driver. While not at all pleased at the start, Daisy's relationship with Hoke develops far beyond what either could have imagined at the start.
